In summer, the students mostly depart and the colleges, keen to take advantage of their residents’ absence, hastily erect scaffolding and begin repairing another year’s worth of wear on their limestone fortresses…”
I wrote about climate change, fenland, and the city of Cambridge in a creative nonfiction piece recently published by Hindsight Journal, which is run from within the University of Colorado Boulder. The piece is titled ‘Before The Floods’. I enjoyed writing it and am happy it has found a home.
