Sweet-natured satire (published by Little Old Lady Comedy)

“Unbothered. Unstirred. Happy in my lane. Moist. Flourishing (bacteria).”

Back in September 2021, I wrote a gentle satire of self-care tips from the perspective of a recently expired quince compôte.

One might wonder if this was an example of me scraping the bottom of the ideas jar. Yet as the quince compôte of this piece entreats: be kind to yourself and others, sit proudly on your shelf, and don’t go tipping yourself off the edge. So I choose to focus on the positive!

Self-care rhetoric can also be a little banal. It is therefore ripe for parodying…

Little Old Lady Comedy published this piece, which you can read on their website here.

It’s actually quite wholesome. Check it out – perhaps it is to your taste!
